Cervical Cancer Avoider

Have seen much interest – great!  the beat the clock walk is happening again this year In Washington DC – weekend of May 17th.  Contact Tamika & Friends for most recent info.  Hope to see you all there!!

There seems to be a lot of controversy about the use of the HPV Vaccine to help prevent cervical cancer.  I came across this article in the Manchester Evening News about a study recently completed in the United Kingdom.  The more education we can receive about cervical cancer prevention & screenings, and the more we understand what study results show, allows us to have the right knowledge to tell someone that cervical cancer can be eradicated.  Choose to know that you can take control.  Please read the article through the link and pass it along!

{May 22, 2007}   HPV Test – Tell Someone

You can help spread the word about eliminating cervical cancer.  See the attached commercial about the HPV test and share it with your friends.  If we all pass this information along, we have the opportunity to eliminate cervical cancer.  It is 100% preventable, as we highlighted through participation at the Beat the Clock Walk.

{May 21, 2007}   Beat The Clock Walk

Just got back from Washington DC and participating in the Tamika and Friends first annual ‘Beat the Clock’ walk.  Over 400 people attended in order to promote awareness of cervical cancer prevention techniques, such as the Digene HPV test, more effective screening by using liquid paps and the HPV vaccine.  The walk was also to remind us that cervical cancer is 100% preventable – it is the first chance we have to actually eradicate a cancer.  Women – take control of your own health and make sure you partner with your doctor not only to prevent cervical cancer, but in all aspects of your well being.  Not only should you ‘choose to know’ your own status but you should ‘tell someone’ to find out theirs.
